Meet the Maker
Meet Luzalba, she begun pottery whilst studying at Uni in Venezuela and worked on her craft as often as she could. When her and her family came to Australia in 2008 she had to leave her wheel behind and take on some new adventures. It wasn't till 6 years ago when one of her daughters brought a pottery wheel from my high school back home for the summer. Luzalba jumped back on the wheel instantly and no one has seen her off it since.
For the past 6 years Luzalba has been re-mastering her craft, playing and experimenting with ceramics and enthusiastically showing her family her beautiful work, and finally she is excited to show the rest of world.
Luzalba's Craftsmanship
Luzalba takes inspiration from everything, and translates that through form, color and texture. She believes Pottery to be a unique form of art and that should translate into each piece made. Not one of her pieces is the same, each possessing their own unique set of marks, shapes and sizes. Perfect imperfection is Luzalba ideology and having fun with each piece is how her work looks so loved and cared for.

I think these very personal moments i have whilst working are visible in each one of my pieces.
